Genuine Toyota Brake Pads
What Noise Do Bad Brakes Make?
When car brakes are faulty, they can produce different types of noise, and the specific sound may vary depending on the brake issue. Some common brake-related noises are high-pitched squeaking or squealing noises when applying the brakes. These noises could indicate that the brake pads have worn down to the point where a wear indicator is making contact with the brake rotor.
A grinding noise when braking may suggest that the brake pads are severely worn and the metal backing is making direct contact with the brake rotor. Clicking sounds may indicate an issue with the brake caliper or loose brake hardware. A thumping noise or a metal-on-metal sound may occur if any portion the brake hardware is loose or damaged.
Only genuine Toyota brake pads are designed and built according to strict Toyota specifications and tolerances. The friction materials in our OEM brake pads are designed for the dynamics of your Toyota's specific braking system. Other pads may compromise the braking system's performance, resulting in rotor wear and excessive noise.
